Supercharger

It is time to get serious. I have added hella bolt on mods and only have minimal gains in Horsepower and Torque. Looks like the only answers are a supercharger or new motor. Which is the easier mod. I know this isnt a new thread but looking for help.

What do you have to replace to make it work. New intake??

I have heard STS Turbo is pretty good and a little cheaper but have no data to back it up. Also looks easier to install.

Re: Supercharger

kit comes with everything you need
replace stock intake with supercharger assembly
swap over a few things from stock intake
extend a few sensor wires
mount cooler in front of radiator for s/c
mount a pump for cooler and run some hoses
mount a inline fuel pump
run some wires
reprogram computer
install instructions
http://magnacharger.com/pdf/manual01.pdf

this s/c has no lag, drop the pedal and it goes
most turbo's have some lag
you can post here and ask about sts turbo
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=21
some serious gearheads on this bourd i'm sure someone there knows or can help

How much RWHP are you getting?

Is the supercharger going to damage the engine in the long run?

What is a stall converter?

Any other mods to your truck?

Sorry for all the questions, still new to this game...

don't know never dynod, but difference is night and day, can ask the guys on the other site a few have them and can probablt tell you what they got for increase

Is the supercharger going to damage the engine in the long run?

the magna charger uses an eaton supercharger, they make s/c for a lot of car manufacturers, i think the long term damage would be slight depending on how u drive it

What is a stall converter?

a stall converter is a torque converter for the transmition that is designed to ingage at a certain rpm higher than stock, to take advantage of the higher torque and horsepower produced at higher rpms

Any other mods to your truck?

have alot of mods to my truck but as far as performance i have had a powerdyne supercharger, it was junk, had a nitrace kit, was nice power increase when activated but have to refill bottle all the time and can cause severe engine damage if something goes wrong, which it did and i had to replace motor, other than that i replaced the differentioal gears to 4.56's because of tire size, put on some traction bars to reduce wheel hop, and put in a shift kit, other than that they are all apperence or audio mods

Sorry for all the questions, still new to this game...
ask away i'll anser if i can, i'm not a real gear head but have experence fixing cars for a liveing

Re: Supercharger

i would like to know what your current s/c cost to buy and install. i have a 4,8 and a five speed. i think that s/c might be a justifyable mod especially with the directions link you gave earlier...JJ

You can always get into some head work, cam, converter, and tranny. It's always fun running the great numbers on motor.
I'm going to see how low I can go, then throw the bottle on her to see how low I can go. I'm not going to stop until I see a high 10sec pass!
If I were going to go with a blower of some sort, a turbo setup seems to be the best way to go for really high hp numbers. Second choice would be the Radix, hands down. The Radix does have a limit though. The turbo is really only limited to how much your motor can take.

With good tuning, I've heard of guys running up to 12 pounds on a stock bottom end 5.3L. The 5.3L are a little higher compression than the LQ4 6.0L, and the LQ9 6.0L is higher than both. Well, 12-13lbs might be pushing it alittle, so I would say that 10lbs could be run on a daily driver for years of fun.
