Flat Tyre Problems ....Who has thought of this !!!!!
Well the unthinkable happen today and got made to look a fool on the side of the road.
Since having my car lowered/18" rims and kit all put on i have never had to take the wheels of myself for any reason since getting the skirts on about 6 months ago (mainly because it sits in the shed and only comes out on sunny days !!!.. ).Any way, today i took it out for a drive and got a flat front tyre. After getting all the gear out to change it...i found out to my horror that there was no way in hell i could get the factory jack under the car to lift it with out doing damage to the side skirt. So i was left stuck on the side of the road as i had to ring my wife to bring my small floor-jack from home. Any of you guys been caught out like this, or is it just the different type Stillen skirts i have on it ? This may be a help to some of you other who have never thought of this and may want to check it out so you dont get caught out like me. Man did i feel like a fool

damn, that sucks dude. what we should do is carry a wooden block with us so that IF we get a flat tire, we can roll the flat tire wheel onto it to raise the ride height to get under the frame.
you can use a text book or whatever too if you have one. usually just need a small piece just 2 to 3 inches in thickness. those aren't those Kumho tires, are they? |

No they are not KUMHO'S
They are a brand called Marshall's which are a brand here in New Zealand and are a very good but expensive tyre

Bugger!
Was in a friends Evo a couple of months back. It does a 12.3 quarter mile, so hence, its F**K*N quick. It was a little wet (like it always is in an Auckland winter) and he decided that he wanted to plant the right foot to race some little Mazda thing. When he did all four wheels let go of the tarmac and we were doing fish tails all over the show. We though this was a little bit more fun than racing the mazda until we ran over a nail in the road which totally shreaded the tyre. The dude had new tyres on the way anyway so he wasnt to concerned. We all though we would jump out and give him a hand. He is obsessed with security and has a locking nut on every stud. It wasnt until he came to take off the wheel that he realised he didnt have his lock nut key! He ended up having to get his car towed because he lived in Waiuku, about an hour and a half away and didnt want to leave his car on the side of the road at 1 in the morning. The tow truck bill was just shy of 100 bucks. The moral of the story is to always carry a key for your wheel nuts! |

HAHAHA...I feel a lot better now after hearing that
.Speaking of the key for your mags, where the hell is a good place to keep them ? When some one (lowlife) wants to nick your mags he only has to check the boot/glovebox/door pockets etc...and what ya know....there it is all ready for him to use. Anyone have idea's ???.......(real good safty box they cant get in ?) I have 3 on each wheel and its a pain to hide them all around the car.

I have a number of positions where I hide mine. The first is under the cover of the gear stick. I have the leather gear stick cover that goes onto a plastic surround at the bottom. I just lift out the surround and hide them under there. The second place I have hidden them is in the Lining of the boot lid. The best place I have found is by removing the front two accessory lights in the roof (mine just seems to pop out when I pull on it, dont know about how the P11 works though) and put the keys in the roof lining. This is by par the best place because not many people would even think that they pop out that easy. I guess I will have to find a new hiding place now that I have announced to the world where mine are keep, but they will have to beat the alarm system first!

How about it putting it under the seat somehow? It is a tight fit there, and I doubt many of them search under the seat. Just an idea
