The last couple of nights my wife has been turning the outside X-mas lights off around mid-night but when I went to work the next morning the lights are on.. Last night I talked to her about this and she said that she is turning the lights off every night.

Well last night I turned the out lights off at 10:00pm. Played computer games until 1:00am. Walked by the front door and notice our lights were on.

Turn them off and went to take a shower. Walked by again and they were on again. Turn off. I walked outside and notice that everybodies lights were on.

I think someone is doing this to see if someone is home or to see when we go to sleep and wake up.

They will probably not break in tonight but will try in a few days.

Heh. Let 'em try figuring out when we're home or not. Regardless of whether or not the xmas lights get unplugged, the dogs'll bark if they hear anyone walking in the grass.

And anyone who doesn't know us doesn't know they're :

Regardless, a good idea to keep an eye out for a pattern like this. I'd suggest talking to the neighbors and the police.

If no one in your family is doing this I would call the police and tell them someone has been harassing you with this and you think it may be a potential burgular. With that they should step up patrol of your area though the night and the increased police presence it should deter potential burgulars.

I have two very big dogs but they sleep with us in the bedroom.

I have had my truck broken into about 8 times until I pin switch the tool box. We live in a very nice area but there are some theieve that love our area.

I going to have cameras installed around the house because I want to find out who it is so that I can deal with them the right way.

One time they broken into my honda and stole money from my wallet that I left in there but left the wallet and credit cards. How nice. Another time the stole 50 cents from the center console.

Completly random times they hit my truck.

I shot at a guy 5 times with 12 gauage slugs when he was getting back into his car when he was trying to take stuff from my tool box. I had the tool box hooked up the alarm and the alarms sets off two sets of air horns. Do not know if I hit him but that was the last time my cars were broken into. The house thing is new.

I have never shot at a guy, I don't want a manslaughter or muder charge against me, but I have racked off a couple of shots in the air when a guy was trying to break into my 84 Cadillac Deville to steal my subs and amps. (4 15" MTX Thunder 8000, 2 Alpine 1500W amps) He ran like the wind....the cops got `em though. It pays to have the police frequency programed into your fire department 2 way radio! Helluva lot faster than 911!

You must live in Texas.

I love Texas. Especially for the law that allows us to do things like this.

Just make sure if they get into the house that you do in fact kill the person.

I have no qualms about shooting/killing someone over protecting my family. Sure, it'd be something I'd carry with me for the rest of my life, but it'd be easier to deal with that than with the loss of my sons and wife.

You hit the nail on the head, yes I live in Texas and I have the license to carry a weapon.

My thinking is this. If they break in my truck today they will break into my house next time.

After I shot at the truck, I called the police. They came by and we talked. He said that since my life was in danger that I had to defend myself. I asked him how was I defeneding myself. The cop said, well he could have used his truck as a weapon against you.

Boy there is a loop hole everywhere. They did not give me a ticket for firing a gun in city limits and ruled it just cause.

If you ever see a Ford Ranger (dark color) older model with 5 slugs holes in it drop me a email.

1. 1- Passager side door.
2. 1 - Side back passager part of bed
3. 2 - tail gate on the passager side
4. 2 - back window missing.

Description of driver:

White kid long curly black hair (mullet) between the age of 19 - 25, hair lips, small frame. I know about every teenager kid.

I live in LA, I have dogs that make lots of noise & a 12g for anyone that gets past them

My outside Christmas lights are turned on and off by a switch in the house, so the theives knock on the door to see if you are home. Lot of "home invasions" here. They knock on the door and when you open it to see who it is , the other guys hiding out of sight to the side burst into your house and rob you. That is why i never answer the door at night and have an Easton bat handy
