Painting

How much, on average, does it cost to repaint an entire vehicle?

Re: Painting

Painting can be cheap.........$299, or expensive............$2500 +
The difference is in preparation and materials.
Prep is the most important. Do you just scuff the old paint or strip it off? Do you need to do lots of bodywork first, such as fix dents and rust?? If yes, how good a job will you do?
As for materials, Acrylic enamel, urethane, base+clear coat?? Materials alone can vary from $25 (for a can of Tremclad) to $600 ++
Also how big is the vehicle??
Is is an Isetta or a Suburban? The surface area makes a huge difference.
You get what you pay for. Cheap paint and bodywork will look poor and fade/chip/rust easily and quickly. Geneally a cheap job is a waste of money unless you intend to sell the car right away (and mislead the new buyer)

A really good paint job will last for many years and will add to the value of the vehicle.
