bench seat swap out

Any out there know where I can buy captains chairs for my rear seats? I want to change out the bench seat. Like with the newer Suburbans.

Ironically, I am looking to swap out my captain chairs for a bench seat. Family of 5 and cargo space necessitate the change. Now here is the catch. My interior is tan. Any luck.

Mine is leather also. It is a 1999 which is the older model. I don't recall what year yours was. I'm sure if it is the older model it would work. What condition are yours in? Any marks, cuts, rub throughs. My seats are in excellant condition with damage anywhere. I can provide you with some images if you would like.

I just looked at your profile and noticed that yours is a 2000. Is that the year of the new body style. If so, I'm not sure it will work.

Yes it is the new body style. It might work! If you want to send some images, mostly the mounting of the captains chiars, that would be great. Then I can check to see if it uses the same mounting holes. With any luck it could work.

The bench seat is in great condition but lets see if it will work first.

I will quick some pics taken as quick as I can. I also found that there are two different beiger/neutral trim packages. Mine is fairly dark, though I don't know the exact color. Do you know your trim package code? Or even where to find it. This will help us match up the colors. I found a 2nd row bench seat on Ebay, but it was significantly lighter than mine.

Not sure what code to look for but the codes are in the glove box on the sticker. I believe I have the darker color as well.

Hold up a minute dudes. The Captain's chairs were first available on 2003 models. Therefore I would bet the seat tracks won't be the same on your models. But give it a shot ya just never know.

I just found my code. 52D. If that means anything. I noticed the quote from another user about the mounting. My Sub is a conversion package vehicle. with custom seats. I will have my camera available tomorrow for some pics. We'll see.

Sorry for the delay. I just posted some images on my web server at the school where I teach. This is easier than trying to post them here. Let me know if you need further info. I snapped a couple of the mounting. This is as close as I could get. I can try a different angle if it will help. I am going to contact a service department to see if mounting these two styles of seats between the two models is a problem. Here is the site. http://bcms.leesummit.k12.mo.us/rzim...eat/images.htm

Thanks for your patience.

I looked at the sticker in the glove box, I don't see a 52D. My window sticker said Interior is Med Oak Custom leater trim. I will probably need to go to the dealer and have them tell me the code.

Who did the customizing of you SUB? It looks great. From what I could tell from the pictures the color looks the same. I'll check and see if the mounting will work.

HEY ZIMFAM sorry about the delay. I still don't know what code I have as far as the interior. But it looks like the mounting will work. could you take some measurments? Like the distance between each mounting stud from front to back and left to right. For both seats and the distance from the door to the seat at the bottom. Then we will be able to see if it will work.

Sorry for the delay, again. Here are the measurements you need. From the front bolts to the back 10 3/4 inches. There are two measurements across the seat. The current bolts are 14 1/4 inches apart. However there is an additional bolt hole (unused) that measures 12 1/2 inches across. I spoke with a dealer and because my seats are a part of a conversion package, he could tell me if the bolts would line up. He suggested going to a salvage yard. Supposedly, they have books that let them know what parts fit between different model years.
