Help on some paint!

After seeing the paint list of the Top Secret GT-R there were some paints listed that I don't have. So, who makes the paint Iron black and Burnt iron in a bottle and is there any alternatives? Also what is the difference between Tamiya's Titanium Gold, Gold, and Gold Leaf?

Re: Help on some paint!

Gold Leaf is just their 'gold' color in acrylic. Titanium gold is a more pale version, like it's cut with silver. Gold is the spray lacquer, which is probably a close match for Gold Leaf (Almost all of their spray colors match their bottled colors).

Testors sells a Burnt Iron in their Metalizer line, but no Iron Black that I could find.

Who makes the car? Hasegawa, and probably every other Japanese company besides Tamiya, use Gunze Sangyo/Mr Color paints in the manuals. I have the color charts someplace if you need them.

Hey,

Check out the testors metalizers for the metalic paints you mentioned.

Re: Help on some paint!

Burnt Iron is a GSI Creos colour I think. Not sure about Iron Black, could it have been Metal Black?

Re: Help on some paint!

Hmm. Those don't match my Gunze color chart: Is a specific company called for in the manual?

An IPMS Sweden website suggests that Tamiya X-10 Gunmetal is a substitute for Burnt Iron.

I still can't find anything on 'Iron Black'. Might the translation from Japanes affect the wording?

The "C" color is GSI Creos (i.e. C28)..and from the HLJ website...

Looks like a light gunmetal might be a close match

Uhm, not to be sarcastic but...

GSI Creos
Testors Lacquer
Model Master Enamel
Model Master Acrylic
Tamiya Acrylic
Tamiya Synthetic Lacquer
Mr Color
Vallejo
Revell

and just about any other hobby paint manufacturer you can think of...

and if you mix like paints, almost any color combo is obtainable..
