Headers any opinions

okay my 95 transam has three mods borla exhaust and a k&n intake system along with a throttle body air foil all which was done before I got the car. Now what I want is some good recommindations for headers. I know the exhaust system was extremly expensive and that is all I know(i found it in a magazine and I know it was it problem is we just moved I can't find that mag) . Any suggestions for headers would be nice thanks.

Re: Headers any opinions

You don't hear too many complaints on Hooker Long tubes(which I use and I like them) but Pacesetter Mid's are a decent header for the money IMO but other's have stated fitment issue's but friends of mine I have helped install them haven't had any problems. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Re: Headers any opinions

Hooker SuperComps. No brainer... On a '99 Camaro, with some head work and a cam and a chip, nothing else, went from 12.70 to 11.90 with the header change.
One word of advice. No matter what brand you buy, DO NOT buy them based on price. Buy them based on performance and quality. Price-based header buying almost always leads to a new pair every couple of years. Good headers don't wear out as quickly. Also, have them thermally coated. That coating will protect your investment.
The rationale here is that headers are installed for one purpose. Power. If you buy the cheepies, you won't get the power, but you WILL get all the headaches that come with headers. Perhaps more.

Merry Christmas!

Jim

Re: Headers any opinions

if you dont know a good muffler shop to hook the headers up to your old pipes, i would recomend getting the y-pipe that fits the headers as well, do it yourself and save you some headaches. edelbrock has some header y-pipe combos that are nice and fit good to eachother. no leaks!!!
