I've got a problem with my driver side door power window that I haven't seen a post on yet. Today I rolled my window down, and when I went to roll it back up, I heard a pop and the window stopped about half-way up. I played with the switch a little bit and when I pressed it down, the window went back down with no problem. Thing is, it wouldn't go back up again.
Thanks to several helpful posts here, I was able to take my door panel off with very little trouble (although I think I did break one of the tabs off). I've never really messed with windows though, so I'm not really sure what to look for. I noticed two cables running from the motor, and following the track of the window down to the bottom of the window. Well, I should say that only one goes all the way down. The cable on the rear side of the car is all the way up, and doesn't appear to be attached to anything. At first, when I played with the switch again, the motor would make noise and appear to operate the cables when the switch was pressed to make the window go down (although the window was already down). I could manually pull the window up about 6" until something was causing it to stop. At that height, I could make the window go back down via the switch, but it still wouldn't go up. After poking around on it like that for a few minutes, now it won't do anything when the switch is pressed, up or down. If I had to guess what was wrong with it, I would say that the rear-most cable probably became disconnected from whatever it was supposed to be connected to down at the bottom where the window attaches to the bracket that moves on the track. I'm somewhat curious as to what may have caused to motor to not work now, when it was at least working in the downward direction to begin with. Oh, and the window appears to be in the track as far as I can tell... Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

so you opened the whole door panel on the driver side? did you check to see if the cable whether has it snapped or not? if the cable snap, then you have to buy a brand new one to replace it.

No, the rear-most cable does not appear to be broken, it still has the little metal barrel on the end, which I assume is supposed to be attached to something...

Re: '94 Accord EX, Another Power Window Problem
Check a junk yard. They are cheaper. Color of the bezel is not important. You can take the switch out of the junker and put it into your bezel.
