Re: Air intake Manifold help

Hey that place is only 60 miles from me!

If you have a foxbody 'stang it's a bolt-on. Just don't overtorque the bolts and you'll be fine.

If you have a '94-95 GT you'll need an elbow from Edelbrock, TFS, or FRPP and you may have to cut or remove the hood liner to prevent rubbing, otherwise it's a bolt-on.

It's not that bad just need to take the throttle body and air intake off. Then remove the manifold (simple it's 6 bolts). The bottom is a little bit more, disassemble the fuel rail and lines, remove injectors, and disconnect all hoses then remove (8 bolts). Make sure to get a new grommet-pcv filter, and gaskets. Put some penetrating oil on all the bolts to loosen them up. When I installed my intake manifold 2 bolts in the lower manifold were seized into the heads so I had to have them machined out.

Re: Air intake Manifold help

ok i got the top part off, ive herd that you need a tool to get the injectors out, what is it called?
Also off the subject, can i get a pully that goes on my alt. that makes it spin faster, so it puts out more power. Thanks

Re: Air intake Manifold help

Nope, your alt. puts out max amps between 2500-3000 RPM anyway. Most guys run underdrive pulleys to decrease drag on the motor.

Tool for injectors? I use my bare hands. Just work them back and forth and pull firmly, put a little oil on the O-rings prior to re-installing. Don't even have to disconnect them from the wiring if you don't want to.
