noise when front left wheel fully turned?
Greetings,
I have a 98 cherokee sport I purchased recently and when I fully turn towards the left, like when turning around or parking, there is a loud sort of clunking noise coming from the front left wheel. Does anybody have any idea what it could be? I`m no expert on 4x4`s or cars for that mather, but would like to have an idea and understanding before getting this fixed. I find it very hard to get honnest help from mechanics theses days... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: noise when front left wheel fully turned?
It might be the tire rubbing on something (usually the lower control arm.)
Try parking the vehicle with the steering wheel turned all the way, turn off the engine and crawl underneath and look to see if there is any sign of contact. If not, you may have a loose/worn steering or suspension compnent that needs attention. |

Sounds like it could be abad hub or axle shat U Joint> Jack up the Front and take a Good Look. Try turning the wheel and see if you can hear a noise and check the condition of the U Joints on the Axle.
