Unhappy oo bulb replacement...WTF

I wanted to replace the headlight bulbs in my 2000 Trailbazer with something brighter. Popped the hood and..... how are you supposed to get to these damn things? They just can't make things simple anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: oo bulb replacement...WTF

Now that I found my owners manual....hmmmm, pretty simple now. There are two brackets to be lifted, they each have a small lip on the top. Simply lift them up and the headlight assembly pulls forward allowing access to the bulbs. Once changed, replace the headlight assembly and slide the brackets back into place.

make sure that you don't touch the new bulb with your bare hands. the oil from your fingers will shorten the life of the new bulb.

Sometimes the headlights don't always want to go back in very easy. I had a hell of a time trying to get my drivers headlight in once as I just couldn't get the black plastic block that gets locked into place and the slide in tab to both go in together. Just ensure you put yours in correct. If there is a lot of up and down play or the gap between the chrome molding and the light is excessive, you don't have both securing features on the back of the light in correctly. I went into the dealership and asked them if I was doing something wrong and they laughed as they said some of them can be a bitch to get back in.
