win isd
hey guys does anybody know if win isd accounts for port volume when it tells you the dimensions to make your box?
also, when i look at the spl chart, it only goes up to about 117 db @ like 300 wrms..? i thought that a vented tempest (although tuned kinda low ..28-30hz) would give me a little better than that? or is this not what i think it is?

Re: win isd
that's anechoic, if you stick it in a car you'll gain quite a bit of output over that number. Don't look at winisd's spl numbers as they don't have any application to cars

Re: win isd
ok cool.. but sr20 what about the 1st question.. does the box volume it gives you take the box's port vol. into consideration?

Re: win isd
not a clue, never used winisd to build a box (I have used it to get port lengths right, but not to actually get the dimensions)

Re: win isd
ok and while im thinking abotu this why do almost all audiophiles prefer slot ports.. they seem so much more difficult to make, what is the advantage over round ports?

Re: win isd
it's easier to get a lot of port area, that's the only advantage I know of
