leak in my heater control valve

I have another leak in my car and i took it to meineke and they told me that it was the heater control valve and i even saw that it was wet all around it - if i dont use my heater will it continue to leak? i've been leaving the heater on and i have noticed that it was still leaking...i just didn'tk now if i should be worrying about something else - they did a pressure test and said my hoses were in good condition and that is the only thing they found that was leaking - i went ahead and ordered the part and will get it installed in the AM...
