Question O2 sensor bad?

Hi

I own a 1996 2.2 L Cavalier (no a/c), anyway, I've been having problems with very high fuel mileage and alot of bucking/vibrating at idol. Also all plugs are getting fouled and tip of tail pipe is black, and I am smelling gas on the oil dipstick. I've been researching and it seems like it's a bad 02 sensor. Does anyone concur/disagree. Any feedback would be appreciated. Also any other ideas as to what the problem might be. By the way I recently replaced 2 fuel injectors and the oil pan, fuel filter, air filter and plugs.

Re: O2 sensor bad?

Bad O2 sensor will cause you car to run rich yes... There are 2 of them that talk with one another and constantly change the mix every second your car is on... The one located on your header is the primary one that controls the A/F ratio but both are needed.. Also you car might be mis-firing so you might want to check and see if you have bad wires or Coils.. g'luck
