Re: Who loves hot rods?

I'm a fan of almost everything before the '70's and lots of stuff during and after the '70's. Hot rods and muscle cars, however are more enjoyable to see, in my opinion, compared to more modern cars because they show style an character. My most favourite hot rod has to be the '40 something mercury coupe

I can't believe this either...hot rods are the coolest cars ever! Where is the appreciation for the very roots of car modification? Also I believe that you are talking about the '49 Merc customs which GroundRat posted many of. Great collection too. I thought I had a badass collection of rods 'n customs. If you want to follow, we are building up a '49 Ford in the fabrication forum. I just have a few more pics to add!

I like all kinds of cars Hot Rods are awesome because people put their own sweat and blood into making them look cool and go fast, they didnt pay someone else to do it

BTW: on the first car, is that a camshaft on the front of it? just asking.

Re: Who loves hot rods?

Hot rods are just plain awsome, they are a car, if you can call them a car. Excuse me, they are a work of art that someone designed, created, built with their own sweat and blood, have painted an ourtragous paint job (depending on the car). Usually have an absurdly huge v8 in them, that is chromed out, performance parts out the yea, you know. They also ususally have something like a double or tripple carb setup, (which looks darn cool), chromed longtube headers with ankle burners (sidepipes), etc, etc. And finally they are JUST PLAIN COOL.

Right on man, I'll check it out! I picked up an old ford Y block for cheap but it's going to be a couple of years before I start looking for a chassis to throw it in. I gotta finish my truck (should be done the end of this year) and car first.
