how many of you do it sideways?

I was wondering...
having the car for it doesn't mean you do it.
so show yourselves... the ones that DO it sideways.
* all level drifters

Re: how many of you do it sideways?

i do my girlfriend sideways.. but she wont let me take pictures so i can't exactly SHOW you.. you'll just have to take my word..

and lazyfcker, i'm lookin forward to pics..

and jdm guy, you can't just ask for drifting pictures.. i doubt there are more than 3 actual drifters on this forum.. drifting can be classified as an auto sport, whatever the hell that means.. an it takes practice, trial and error and such.. and none of us have the money for trial and error.. so i agree with you in that having a 240 doesn't mean you're a drifter.. buuuuuut i don't see too many guys pretending anyways so its not that big of a deal.. it may not even be a goal of 90% of the guys here.. which now seems a little discouraging since these cars are ideal for it.. personally, i don't see many posers out there cause they know it doesn't take much to take some pics of somebody drifting.. so nobody really pretends to do it...

not to flame anybody who does it but it seems so rare that its like the 1337 of the driving world.. those who actually do it are (to me) above most others that own these cars.. since they're known for the sport..

but i'm rabling.. just got back from the bar.. hopefully some of this makes sense

Re: how many of you do it sideways?

lol, i can understand that you had a good time.
I'm not asking for actual pictures, i'm just wondering if any of you ever tried, perhaps we could start a discussion on this interesting subject.

Re: how many of you do it sideways?

Plan on doing it once I get the engine/gearbox swap done, and I have extra money to burn for tyres and such.

Right now I'm content with being a photographer for D1NZ and being on the edge of the track as all manner of RWD monster flies by at 100mph sideways, 10ft away from me.

Re: how many of you do it sideways?

I am going to as soon as I get out of this hell that is known as Iraq. I used to try to go sideways in my 240, but that nasty open diff was kicking my ass. But a Nismo LSD is soon to be installed after the wonderful homecoming

Re: how many of you do it sideways?

lol yea not fun in the sand......jk

anyways i dont claim to be a drifter at all, i dont think most people do. YES they may go in a empty parking lot and ATTEMPT to drift, but most of us are kids and dont have near the experience to actually go out a drift on the open roads. So i guess it depends on what your calling drifting. If you mean come home everyday and go out on the roads and just burn up a set of tires (do this repeatedly like its everyday nature) then i dont think anyone on this forum is a drifter....that i know of.

Re: how many of you do it sideways?

i try but ill be honest i suck at it but as D BO said it takes practice i really dont have the suspension set up for drifting though. i wish i could practice drifting more but my budget cant afford the tires or the possibility of a wreck but i plan to keep at it

i go sideways and even some times in circles. ynormally, i go late at night into parking lots and if i can get some cones i set up a small course thing. also, i use the light poles like i try and stay the same distance going around them. or some reall deserted back roads i know of (i live in very small populated area they are numerous). but since late at nights people hearing screeching noises and maybe seeing smoke i can't do it for long in parking lots. cops like to come and ask me what i am doing. i say drifting .
