Talking plans for new car need some help.!

well unfortunatly the probe is on its last breath, im getting the dreeded blue smoke for my exhasut, its making wierd noises at times and the pick up is getting slower, the hi-milage and wear and tear is catching up to the car, it does have 162k on it, im gona miss her, i hope she lasts throughout the winter tho..

so its time to look ahead, i,m gona need a newer car, so im looking for some thing with no less then 60k on it, and i dont want to spend more then 6k for the car, and it has to be realible, my parents are helping me this time to buy the car but not with much, i have aobut 3g's saved up they will match it, i have to pay my own insurance, ect.

so here are my options SC300 OR 240SX(s-14)
i would get a dsm but my rents will not help me b/c my pops doesnt like mistu.. (my damm grl cuz messed it up, she had a 96 eclipse gs and she never maintaned the car and it gave a shit load of problems, now my dad thinks all dsm are like dat.. )

well the reason im choosing the sc300/240sx rouit is they are easy to come by, nice looking cars, and have a good aftermarket, the first mod to ither car will be a turbo kit, most likly a f-max for the 2jz and ka24, its the most complete kit i seen out there for the price, (240sx-4300) sc300(4500), the sc will need more work and is more expensive then the 240 but in the end the sc has more potiental then the 240sx, but the 240sx well be mad fast quicker and also i got TAT to guide me on the ka-t tunning, so im stuck right now, what do you guys say? sc300 turbo or 240sx ka-t?

btw buget after obtaning the car is no more then 6'gs over the course of 1 1/2yr...

thanks

oooh, definatly the 240... those are awesome cars and easy to mod. RWD is always fun too. You can get them much cheaper than 6 k and the motor's on them are pretty good... though personally i'd rather just go for a 300zx tt..

240sx!!! i told you many times man!! you ca'nt resist this car.

also ivan from nico is goin to be running 9's next season with his KA-T so don't automatically think that the 240 have less potential then a SC.

also as i told you on the phone many times. with 5.5K you can make your KA make atleast 350whp. most guys on NICO making that power runs mid 12's to high 11's trapping atleast 114mph.

I say you should get the sc300 and turbo it even though it weighs more.

the SC300 is a nicer car, but it depends on what you want out of a car.

well so far the SC300 is dominating, but remember, i know andrew, and hes not exactly what you would call rich. to build and maintain such a car esp if its turboed, will cost alot of money.

for practicality reason, and cost reasons, i would go with the S14. however if money is not a issue ( which it is ) i will pick the SC300.

Re: plans for new car need some help.!

Tat has a point about maintanence. The S14 would be alot more forgiving.

But if you don't care, Sc300.

Re: plans for new car need some help.!

The 240SX is on my list of favorite cars because of their versatility...although the SC300 would really be nice to see done. im leaning towards 240.

The N/T models have no Mitsu driveline parts. All Chrysler.
Get a DSM.

I'd say get the S14. Why? Because I say so.

Re: Re: plans for new car need some help.!

haha thanks for the info, im stil leaning to the sc300, yea maintance is a pain in the neck, but in the long run the sc300 is a bad ass car, probably the closest things us mortals can have that a supra, but the sc300 will take longer to build and will be more of a $ pit then the 240sx, but i kinda want the next project to be long term, btw does anyone know of any members that have a turbo sc300 or of anyone that turboed a n/a 2jz? just curious to see how it stands up in Long run. but the 240sx isnt out of the question, but if i do a 240 the motor swap is a distant dream its gona be ka-t all the way..

DAMM its gona suck being boost less for months, its like going form boost to no psi.. im gona miss turbo soo badly and the sweet sound of my hks ssqv.. one day i will be boosted again, untill then i plan to baby my probe and enjoy the sound of low boost...
