Re: Motor Mounts

it dependes how strong your engine is. IF you engine moves around beacue of to much power, then i guess it would be a good time put motor monts. But i dont now much about this subject.
If you go to 3sxperformance.com they have a video clip that would answer your question.

Re: Motor Mounts

Motor mounts == less engine movement, which == less chances of stuff snapping if they're rusted. Common stuff is exhaust pipes and stuff... <- First hand experiance...

The downside to polyurethene mounts, would be a slight increase in idle vibration.

motor mounts are very important, a degenarated motor mount will shake the car lightly and cause an uncomfortable ride and can even affect your speed. a really bad motor mount will break old hoses, fittings and anything else that is worn out just like stfaud said. the most common thing that bad motor mounts do is snap your shift cables, the cables that go from your shift knob to the tranny, shake a motor hard enought and "snap" your stuck in third gear!

Re: Motor Mounts

They also seem to help the transfer case, if your engine can move enough the transfer case will slam into the crossmember under the car.

Re: Motor Mounts

Too bad about the core charge for the 3sx motor mounts, $650 is kinda stretching it for me.Even knowing your getting the money back it's kinda like taking it up the ass.

Re: Re: Motor Mounts

I have never heard of anyone snapping shifter cables because of a bad mount. I had a bad rear mount for almost a year and the only extra carnage caused was a busted downpipe. On another note, stock mounts suck. If you do any kind of racing, drag strip, auto x, etc mounts will help you.

Re: Motor Mounts

You can get solid steel ones from maximal preformance, something like 250-300 and no core charge.
