loud ticking sound

on my 2.5 4cl 86 there i a loud ticking sound when i go to start the car. the car starts 1/2 the time and the other 1/2 makes the sound. had starter replaced, and and new ignition coil, did not have a solinod put in. p.s is a starter hard to get to, and hard to put in?

Starter is easy, should have plenty of room with your 4 banger! Make sure you disconnect battery first

i can hear the startor, and no 1/3 of the time i cant hear the ticking, just the startor turning. could it be a bad conection. what is the ticking, and were is it coming from.
