Roof scoops were made for rear engine cars. They have no other purpose I can think of.

I was just watching some Rally Racing and noticed that some of the cars had roof scoops on them, like Pigeot and Suberu, but they are front engine 4WD cars...I dunno just something to ponder I guess.

Re: roof scoops

they might have roof mounted intercoolers, which require the air from the roof???

or more likely its a ventalation system for the drivers "life support" system.

on a street car, yeah id point and laugh at you especialy if you had T-tops

You're right about that I saw something on the Speed Channel that said they fed rear mounted radiators and intercoolers.

No real purpose please. I swapped out my AC, and mounted a 6in scoop. Not only is it cold as hell. But I have a parachute when I need to break. Especially in the winter, I'm glad i made a good choice.
