Door and Pillar Rattles Question

My 03 Yukon seems to be plagued by rattles. In particular, the passenger side rear door and pillar beside it rattle and squeak whenever I hit bumps or uneven pavement. The dealer has tried to address these issues, but has not been successful.

My Corvette used to have some of the same issues, and the Vette guys I knew would take things apart and use velcro and felt to quiet the rattles.

I am thinking of doing the same for my Yukon. My question is, do you guys have any advice on taking the door and pillar panels off? I don't want to make things worse!

Thanks!

Re: Door and Pillar Rattles Question

The main thing is to take your time and find the push clips. Use a panel removal tool and make sure you put the tool at the clips, not in the middle of the plastics. On the doors, be sure that you are careful removing the light because they will crack easy. You can use a small hook tool or small flat blade screwdriver. If I remember correctly, the left side comes out first on the door lights. Good luck.
