2004 Durango - Steering Lock up

I'm not sure if the two are related, but yesterday I had a remote starter installed in my 2004 Durango... all seems well with it, but this morning I was driving to work and as I slowed down to turn into my parkade the oil light turned on and my steering locked up. I had to shut down the vehicle and then restart it to get everything to work again. I tried driving again later and it seemed ok, but I am extremely concerned that something the installers did may have disrupted something. I have all my maintenance done regularily and nothing like this has ever happened before.

Does anyone know if there are any Steering Lock up concerns with the 2004 Durnango's? (without getting a remote starter installed)
