wheels and tires

i was looking at getting these wheels in the spring.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=43958

they are 18x7.5 Motegi RT5 Chrome

i'm not sure for the tire size, but i was reconmended 225/40-18

i was looking at Yokohama Avid H4S

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

These are a high performace all season tire, with a 60,000 mile warrenty. I am going to be using them for summer tires only, but want a good treadlife, and good dry traction.

Is this set up going to fit? is it going to work? will i have tire rub? Would these tires fit the wheels? any suggestions or opinions would be helpfull.

thanks

Re: wheels and tires

those will fit just fine with no rubbing.
chrome isn't my thing but those will suit your bright red gst nicely.
if i had a red car, i'd go bronze though. just a personal preference, but either way, nice choice!

Re: wheels and tires

Yep, those will fit with no rubbing, but why do you want to go with chrome? I mean, it looks really nice, but it is really gonna slow your car down.

Nice Wheels.

My GST is a red /orange color and I went with bronze wheels. Like Oxygen stated earlier. It looks like. But its YOUR car so do what YOU like. Your the one who is going to have to get into it every morning.

Re: wheels and tires

those tires are touring tires, if you do anything more than moderately spririted driving, I'd suggest something more aggressive.

TreeFrog check out the Pirelli PZero Nero's M+S....I have them on my car and they are awesome. They grip really well in all weather conditions. And The tread wear is great. My tires have about 15,000 miles on them and they still look almost new.

Plus they are 7.00a piece cheaper then the Yokohama's. LoL you can fill your gas tank with the 28.00 you will save.

Re: wheels and tires

i'm going for the "wow" factor with the chrome. what do you think would be a sportyer look? going with silver?

Yeah i'm not sure on the tires yet. I do want Yokohama though, for the brand honestly. I want performace tires so i GST has to grip (i need all i can get). But i also want good tread wear so those sticky tires probably won't work

these Yokohamas aren't touring tires, they are High performance all seasons.

Re: wheels and tires

If I could go back in time, I would have gotten Rota Slipstream 16" wheels. Or Jake's wheels

Don't worry about that. You got enough weight from the chrome to hold you to the ground.
