Help 2 problems

1988 Volvo 740GLE nonturbo


ok problem number one...i drove up in the driveway and smelled smoke and saw the a/c compressor was smoking (ac didnt work anyway) so i just unplugged it from the compressor ....think it should be ok now and no smoking?


problem #2

in idle my RPM's jump all over that place, i tryed to clean the intake by taking the hose off from air filter to the intake valve flappy dealy but the car wont stay running to clean it out..

any ideas or advice would be appreciated

1. Could be a/c bearings. I would remove the belt.
