Newbie with tranny problems on 1999 WS
I have a 99 windstar and I think the tranny is bad. My wife was driving it and she pulled into the turn lane...stopped...then went to turn and it wouldn't go anywhere in D 2 1, however it works fine in reverse. This all happened a few blocks from the house, so I had some friends follow/lead me and I drove it home in reverse.
It only has 47,000 miles My questions are: Is my entire tranny bad or or is this something small that I can fix cheaply? Is this common? HELP!!! John |

Re: Newbie with tranny problems on 1999 WS
Sorry to say, it doesn't sound like anything cheap. There really isn't a lot you can do for tranny repairs with it in the vehicle except for the flush/cleaning.

Sorry for the post, I tried to search b4 registering but it wouldnt allow me. After posting this thread I have searched and found this is somewhat common problem. I have an extended warranty so I hope this is covered.
