97 540 driver seat and steering column controls quit

My first Bimmer........

Parked to get coffee, came back and the seat adjustments and steering wheel controls did not work. When I press the 1, 2, or 3 memory button, only the side mirrors move. I checked the fuses and they seem OK. Did notice that the plastic casing on the left side of the drivers seat, where the controls are attached, is loose.

Any suggestions?

Good place for parts?

Ways to rule out certain problems?

Also rear passenger door lock sticks, any suggestions?
