On the right side of my information center (for my transfer case) there is the image of a battery w/an "X" in the middle. Does this image illuminate when the battery is dead, or what?
I have the '98 GC Laredo 4.0 |

Re: Battery Display?
well I've never seen this, i would suspect it to be so (dea battery) it could also be battery is not charging properly or voltage staying too low too long.
check the altenator - While engine is running disconnect the negative battery cable, if the engine dies the Alternator is bad. Leave the cable disconnected for about a minute, if the engine dies at all during this time the the alternator is bad. if an alt. is shot it will die right away, but if it is going bad or has a loose connection it will allow the engine to run a lil b4 dying. |

Re: Battery Display?
Thanks for the tip on testing the alternator dksob81, but everything is currently OK w/my alternator & I recenlty installed an Optima battery, no problems!
I believe the image I am speaking of is a battery with an "X" in the middle of it, but it has never illuminated! Does anyone else have any ideas what this is? |
