For the 420A engine, im guessing with all those mods...prolly around the 30+ HP range. my guesses are:
-greddy cat-back exhaust system: 8+ hp
-AEM cold air intake: 3+ hp
-Greddy "Racing" Headers: 8-10+ hp
-Bigger Injectors: (what kind? 550cc, 750cc, 800cc!): ???
-Throttle Body Spacer: (what kind, how big?):???

Re: How much horse is this?

i havent coem to a kind/size of throttle body spacer, but im sure ill be getting the best one i can find, and same with the injectors, but i would think that an exhaust and cold air intake would boost me a little more than 11 total. i was thinkni more of about 20, 15 exhaust, and 5-8 cold air

well how much hp does ur car have right now(sry not familiar with eclipses)....im guessing 150? new exhuast and intake isnt going to really help much if u dont have any hp to begin with...generaly. i think those mods would give u im guessing 10-15% more hp, atleast thats wat my experiences have taught me...i could be way off but the only real way to tell is of course the dyno, so put all that stuff on and spend $60 to do a dyno run...considering ur car is a '96 and probably has some miles on it, dont be surprised when the hp rating isnt much above the stock rating at all :/

Re: How much horse is this?

yeah, sad part is i live in a small town unfamiliar with import cars and such, so we dont have many performance shops, and let alone a place to dyno any cars, we have 2 shops in the entire area that turbo tunes, so i figure i might as well try beefing up my car as much as possible before putting in a turbo. thanx for the help

if ur guna put a turbo in think about getting new heads and ur guna need new plugs cause of more heat and a bunch of other stuff...look on this site and u can find info on what u need to do b4 u turbo ur car...also look into the rear mounted turbos, the ones where u put it in place of ur muffler and it uses the exhaust pipe as an intercooler system, they are cool

Re: How much horse is this?

all those mods would probably get you about 15 hp. Whoever thinks you can get 15 hp from an intake is smokin too much.

Those "rear mounted" turbo systems suck ass. The turbos are tiny and they still lag like hell.

Re: How much horse is this?

People dont want "neat", they want power. The lag is going to be un believable unless you can get a turbo that spools at say 1500 rpms... Highly doubtful, anyways its also more expensive to put it back there.

Oh and shrink down your picture size... You sig is too big!

Why are you giving advice about imports? First, we only have one head, new spark plugs is the last thing to worry about if you are turboing an RS, the guy who thought of rear mounted turbos should be shot in the face, and please use grammar.

Re: How much horse is this?

have you ever looked at whatever tuner mag does the build tests step by step? where they take a stock car, dyno it, then add parts one at a time and dyno it over and over again? if you have you will notice that an intake will post ~5hp and an exhaust will do nothing, and may even drop the tq a little. as far as the other stuff, i would give you mabey 5-7hp for the whole lot.

whopping total: ~12hp but damn will it sound nicer

Re: How much horse is this?

yeah mines a 98gs with all the basic mods, its funny when guys come up to me and ask about how fast it is and all that stuff oh yeah and when i pull out of anywhere you'll hear "light em up" hahahha if these people only knew how slow this realy is they would die,,i mean its enough for me but its like the average car ,even with those easy mods like the exhaust and intake like i got you still cant tell the difference.imo

i was giving advise because he asked dipshit and apparently i was right about the hp gain and i brought up rear mounted turbo because its alot simpilar instal and u dont clog up engine bay with intercooler system, no need to rag on me for putting that out there jerkoff. and yes u do need new plugs because putting in a turbo will change the heat index in ur cylinders so u need to change them to comply with it unless u want to melt them....go take ur stock TSI and read some books or somethign cause u dont no wat ur talking about

Re: How much horse is this?

lmfao
eclipseRST HAS a turboed RS eclipse. you have a old V8. eclipserst knows about DSM's you probably don't even know what DSM means. read the "FAQ reasd this before posting" thread then go to the performance section and read the thread about turboing a RS/GS. spark plugs are the last thing 96EclipseGS needs to worry about since the stock 420A (RS/GS eclipse motor) interanls can only handle about 6 psi which wont melt the plugs. and eclipses have plenty of room in the engine bay to mount a turbo and intercooler.

well my reply was directed at joewagon, im sure eclipserst knows DSMs. maybe ur right i should have read that because i didn't no they could only handle 6psi, i was under the impression he would be running way more, and then u can see why i said that he needed new plugs but apparently im wrong(not the first time).

last time i post in a ricer section again geez
