How do I hook up my Autometer Oil gauge?

Im trying to find the spot on the back of the block where i hook up the oil pressure sender gauge. help. Send pix if you can. thanks.

also instead of making another post can someone tell me how do hook up my autometer oil temp gauge. they supplied bolts but they dont thread into the pan. So can I do it without removing it? LEt me know. Thanks

If this helps, my Autometer gauges are the ELECTRIC type. Just wires. No tubes or any of that crpap. Thanks

I've never done it, otherwise I would offer you help and advice. The thing is, atleast for the pressure switch on the lude - I think it's just a switch I don't know that it's sending a gradual increase in voltage to the ecm. maybe just an on and off voltage. maybe someone else can help you answer that. I'm not so sure that splicing into the pressure switches wiring is going to give you readings on a gauge. In any case this is the general area you are looking for. If you had a pressure gauge that read direct pressure it's pretty easy to see where you would have to connect it. I have heard the electrical ones can be done, I'm just not sure how (: If you can just splice off the pressure switch I wouldn't splice on that side of the firewall anyways - I would take it from where it enters the ecm. because then you can keep the wires on the cabin side.



as for the oil temp, i'm actually not even sure if the pan is the best place for a temp sensor? is it? I would think it would be more useful to have a temp taken somewhere else more internal.. if the pan is the normal place for it - I would still try to locate the sensor in an area where you know the oil won't be sitting to stagnant... like closer to the pumps pickup and stuff - without drilling into the bottom of the pan of course. You will definetley have to remove your pan if you need to make a fitting for it - you can't just drill into the pan and leave the shavings inside haha... but that seems pretty dodgy to me, If I made a fitting I would be nervous as hell and watch it like a hawk for leaks. I think moroso (and obx copies) a really nice pan that comes with extra fittings, but I don't think they are for temp sensors of any sort.

I appreciate what you are trying to do, and sorry I can't be more help - I would also like to keep a closer eye on my pressure and temp, but I've never done it - I suggest you really track down someone on the internet who has done this to their 4th gen, and find out where they put the sensors. then give us all a great writeup (: with photos.
