ravin or flowmaster?

i was looken to put on either flowmaster 40's searies or raven z33 or 55's, whats a better muffler?? not just sound but also quality and length of the life of the muffler? and are flowmasters as restricting as some people make them sound to be?

Re: ravin or flowmaster?

iv heard flow masters are restrictive for some reason,,,,,shure dont sound it.
raven sounds nice.....liston to blazer lt..sound clips.
also another brand to consider is dynomax ss series.
this is what im running in my93 4.3 h.o.
sounds pretty good....kinda like a mustang with a flowmaster...just a lil quieter,
its a fully welded muffler...pretty good construction..from what iv heard.
i got a whole catback system for 140$
they have sound clips at there site......
not for the s10....but you can get an idea.
again....iv heard a few sound clips....and i picked the dyno ss.....sounded best to me....but
sound is a mater of prefferance.

good luck

Re: ravin or flowmaster?

Here are some sound lcips of a Ravin Z55 for your listening and viewing pleasure:

Start up:

Rev Clip:

Video of my revving it.

Ravin Z55 flows a lot better than the flowmaster and has a really nice low grumble to it. Plus, at highway speeds you barely hear it.

It is that or it has made me go deaf........just kiddin'

Re: ravin or flowmaster?

I'll get you some new clips, it now has a magnaflow high flow cat and a cold air intake from K&N.

It is even louder now.

Re: ravin or flowmaster?

Yea, completely serious.

The cold air intake really adds to it but not as much as the high flow cat.

It grows are higher rpm. I love it.

Re: ravin or flowmaster?

Don't mess with the O2 system. It is there for a reason.

Yes, they are just as proven and flow much better than a flowmaster.

The only difference between the two is the z33 is shorter and doesn't muffle the sound as much which makes it louder.
