|
How to get key cover off of steering column.?
Im replacing my heater core but i cant get the damn starter key cover off so i can take off the top panel.
Help anyone? Brute force? |

Should be 3 screws on the under side.

if its like a 96, then theres up to 6 screws, (I think mine has 6), then you also have to remove the key cylinder because it goes in over that cover. theres a button on the bottom of it that you should press with something like a screwdriver, and then slide it out.

Remove the tilt wheel handle and shank by unscrewing it. Rotate the ignition switch to the RUN position and using a 1/8 inch drift punch, press the lock cylinder retaining pin through the access hole in the cover. Then remove the lock cylinder and four scews in the lower cover.
