I have H&R Race springs and a full camber kit, so my drop is about 2 inches.
I bought some 18x7.5 wheels with 215/35/18 tires...I was told the offset was 45. Well the car looked great sitting, but when I drove, the fenders would bounce off the top of the tires. They stuck out far enough to look like no fender rolling would help. I've been told that you can put 18's on a 90 hatch. Does anyone have a similar drop on their hatch with 18's? Do I need 18x7's? Was the rim dealer b.s.ing me about the offset? What offset and wheel size would set me right without the inside of the tire rubbing. I had 17's before....I dont remember the offset but they fit nicely, the fenders stuck out a bit further than the wheels, and I would barely, I mean barely, rub on the inside on u-turns, and only when I would really yank the wheel abruptly. The tires were 205/40/17. Can someone help me?? I just want someone who knows what they're talking about to tell me if and how I can get 18xanythings to fit on my civic with the 2inch drop and full camber kit. Thanks in advance |

Re: HELP!! - 18x7.5 wheels on 90 hatch - HELP!!
Well 1st thing you didn't mention was the size of the tires you are using.
2nd why don't you look on the back of the wheel to see the size and offset. And 3rd-ly what did you expect with going with such a larger wheel and tire? The larger the wheel/tire the less room for error you have. The best size for Civics are 15s and 16s. Anything larger than that is a bit ridiculous and kills your gearing and power. But if you are dead set on 18s you need a 18x7" with 42-44mm offset and 215/35x18" tires.
