Do you have any current mods or plan on doing any drastic mods with the truck? I used to have a Superchips on my old 4.8L, and it dropped my quarter mile time .4, as well as gave me firmer shifts, and upped my speed limiter.
The reason I was asking on the mods is, for the money, a custom tuned pcm is the best for the buck. It will give you alot more increase in performance. Very easy to install and when you get more mods, the upgrades are free. Might want to look into it. Several of us on here have Nelson tunes and love them. I wouldn't go back to a handheld for anything, of course, I couldn't now with the current mods anyway.

I believe my tune was $385 shipped. I've had one retune so far. All it cost is shipping. I've heard stock/slightly modified guys making significant gains from switching from a handheld to a custom tune.

Yeah, he sends you a tuned pcm, then you send him back your core. There's no downtime this way. He won't charge a core charge until 30 days after you recieve the tuned pcm. His website is www.NelsonPerformance.com.
If you have any questions for him, shoot him an email at [email protected]. He is a super nice guy and will help you in any way he can. He also makes some sweet electric fan hookups that allow you to run LS1 or LT1 fans off of your pcm temperature and looks factory made. He has a complete price list on his website, but I would talk to him. He has really hooked my tuning up.

Yeah, I've gotten in pretty deep with this sucker. I have the Airaid with the modular intake tube, and to be honest with you, I don't think the modular intake tube is for me. The filter setup is nice, but the intake tube you buy seperately seems to get thin in places, and could be restricting my airflow in places. I would go with the K&N fipk. It is a quality product and time tested. If I did some riding where I couldn't use an open filter, like riding in dusty conditions or other off roading situations, I would go with the UPD. Alot of guys swear by them. Here's the website to their product. http://www.ultimatepd.com/
They have several to choose from: black, clear, carbon fiber.
Might be worth a look.
I'm going to keep my airaid intake setup and build me an wide intake tube from some tubing at home depot. I need a really wide intake tube to feed this sucker the air it needs.
