Angry 4X4 Problems as well as other little problems 86 s10blazer

This is my first "truck" and living in maine 4 wheel drive woudl be nice if it worked, i read around and i check the vacuum actuator, it seems to work, i put the blazer in 4wd and put it in 1st gear, lift the passenger side of the blazer up, spun the wheel, and pulled the cable by hand to see if i coudl get it to engauge, however it didn't, so im nto really sure where to do from here, so the rest of the info is umm 86 standard , so any helpw oudl be great, i REALLY want this to work we got 4 inchs of snow today and it sucks

If you're pulling on the servo cable while you're turning the front wheel and it's still not engaging the front axle, then either you have a seized cable (somewhat common problem) or the problem is in the axle tube. The cable pulls on a fork which engages clutch fork sleeve onto the axle shaft
