Alright i finally got the boost up and it seems to be boosting properly, but its boosting more than i thought. For some reason when the boost hits 10psi it just suddenly jumps up to 16psi out of nowhere in less than a sec. I was like holy crap!!! so i let off the throttle. I have a JoeP MBC and it is set to 0 so i dont know why im boositing so high if my BC is not even adjusted for more boost. Any of you guys have any idea how to get the boost down? Im only trying to hit 12-13psi on full throttle cause i dont wanna mess things up. Help me out, Thanks!
Here's what i got under the hood: -Free mods -Greddy Type-S BOV -JoeP MBC -K&N filter -full 2.5" custom cat-back exhaust -16g turbo *keep in mind i have a stock fuel system |

Re: Too much BoOst...HELP!!!
does it just spike to 16 or does it stay at 16? did you take out your BCS at the same time? 15-16 isnt uncommon for it to spike to with the free mods and a mbc. also try replacing all your boost control hoses and wastegate hoses with braided fuel line. the fuel line will make the MBC respond faster since the hoses wont stretch and expand when they get pressurized

Re: Too much BoOst...HELP!!!
Port your O2 housing and you'll be fine, you are getting boost creep. 2.5" exhaust and a stock O2 housing are a bad combo with a 16g! I had the same problem on my GST, except my boost creep was up to 24psi. Make the boost controller vacuum lines as short as possible while still being able to mount it somewhere. This will make the WG open as fast as possible with a MBC.

reply...
I installed the mbc myself...vac line from bottom of mbc T'd from BOV vac and other vac line to wastegate actuator...This is right isn't it?
It doesn't stay at 16psi, it just jumps to 16 when it hits 10psi on full throttle in less than a second. I believe it would be spiking to 16psi. port the 02 housing??? That's the same as the turbo outlet pipe right? Just a different name i guess? BTW thanks fellas on your inputs... |

Re: Too much BoOst...HELP!!!
powergod: that is boost spike. try your mbc/wastegate hoses with braided fuel line from napa. also try and keep the lines as short as possible.
