Dash Light

I have a 1995 Rodeo and the left dash light is out. Temp/Volt/Tach are impossible to see at night.

Does anyone know how to replace the light or does anyone have a diagram/directions of which screws to take out to get back there and replace it.

Thanks!

First you need to remove the half a dozen or so screws that secure the kick panel below the sterring wheel and move the kick panel out of the way (you'll have to disconnect the hood release and instrument dimmer). Then there are bunch (ten maybe) screws that secure the dash trim. Removethem and unclip the trim (you'll have to diconnect your accessory switches [defrost etc.] to get this out of the way. Finally there are four screws that hold the guage cluster in place, remove them and pull out the cluster. If yo have a skinny hand you can replace the bulbs without disconnecting the cluster. There are four bulbs for the guages (each should have a rubber sleeve on it, which you can toss if you get green bulbs as replacements). Overall it's about 15 minutes work.

First post,
This place is a wealth of information, so expect me back.
Quick question for today:
I have a '96 Passport EX and wanted to know if there should be illumination for the HVAC controls in this car. I have two lights out on the gauge cluster, so those will need replacing, but the HVAC controls never had any lights on it since I bought the car (last year). If there should be lights there, what additional steps do I need to take to get those bulbs replaced?

Anybody? Should the climate controls be backlit in a '96 Passport?

They are on my Rodeo. I haven't had to replace them but once you get the dash apart it shouldn't be too hard to replace them. You might be able to remove the ashtray and get at them from underneath.
