Question 95 cutlass convertable 3.4 L

Have been concidering selling this car, and has sat a bit. Go to start and charge/run a little, and usually it will sound like this when HOLDING throtle down. Vrum vrum vrum vrum real quick as if I am pushing and letting off throttle really quick. Like my sound immitation?? Anyhow On this day It was like my old 350 rocket 4bbl TOUGH!!! Constant throttle would redline if I wanted it too. Sounded kool too. It only does this in neutral. It has done this before. Well it died.Battery went dead and after getting it going again went back to vrum vrum vrum really quick.

Which is the correct response? What may cause this?

well the "vrum vrum vrum" when you hold the throttle down is caused by the rev limiter.

Thank you for the reply. Figured it was a safety thing.
Any way to disable? I like it better when the rev limiter is not working.

If you should decide to sell, how about some details on that vert? Price? Location? Condition? Color?

Well Jmblimo
Since 95 this was my dreamcar. Always been a Cutlass fan, have owned six. Was selling cuz we were getting married. Married now & I would like to hold on to it. The bills are piling up though.
A few details before you show interest. She is ready for tires and a converter. The o-ring at the ps pump & fluid container-leaking. As with all 3.4 DOHC X Motors that ring in that oil shaft has started leaking. It has 110K,new top, remote car start & alarm. Some fool tried to steal it so the driver key cylinder was replaced but doesn't work? Want it done right-do it yourself I guess. Had a new manifold gasket put on as well as some sensors and fuel injectors very recently &-like an idiot I didn't even think to have the mechanic let me in there to fix that oil shaft leak while it was apart. Phantom brake light still comes on when it wants to. Brakes work though? Power antanae stays midway, driver seat and steering wheel show more than average wear, other than that interior is in really good shape. Body is in really good shape. Very very dependable .
Over all though the thing runs good, and its a sharp looking car. With a new converter it would probably move even better.
I have a feeling its worth more to me than others though. I was going to sell it for 5000.
Mostly because I am being forced to sell it, you know I am married now.
If I was to repair or replace all I had mentioned, I'd probably put a chip & cold air intake in it and keep it forever.

if you are still interested i am in St.Louis

Ohh yea. It's a Forest Green color with a Tan Top & leather interior.
That was the only color I was interested in. Drove to Kansas to pick it up. That color was hard to find. Another note, Cerwin Vega speakers and a Pioneer Premier stereo/CD
