dvc subs usually have more ways to be wired and they're both the same, once again its up to ur amp |

neither is "better", it's all about the application
imagine you take a single 4ohm coil, cut it in half, and put terminals on those 2 free ends. Now you have dual 2ohm coils, you can either wire them in series to get that original 4ohm load like you had before, OR you can wire them in parallel and drop down to 1ohm for use with a high power monoblock amp. All about flexibility
