99 Cougar Console Idiot Lights Help...

I Have A 99 Cougar It Has The Overhead Console With Idiot Lights. The Wrench Is On And The 3rd One Has A Circle With ! . Please Help Turn Them Off...

It tells you right in the owners manual how to turn off the stupid wrench light. It has something to do with holding the select, & reset buttons with the key in the "on" position with the car not running. the little sign with the rotor/caliper on it means that one of the wear sensors on the front pads has gone and you need to replace them.

the wrench light will go off if you hold the select and reset buttons down at the same time. with the key on or the engine running hold them down until the wrench light goes out could be one min. could be more. the third one is low break pad level no buttions will reset this have your front pads replaced

CORRECTION TO THE ABOVE POSTED INFO:

On the 2000 model Cougar. It states in the owner's manual the procedure to reset the "wrench" light.

With the key on hold down the SELECT and UNITS buttons for 5 seconds to reset the wrench light.

Holding the SELECT and the RESET will not turn the light off.
