Transmission Mods?

I have 1998 Turbo (SW-20). Quick question about the missions. In my 95, I was running a TD-06S. The mission would break almost every other weekend. I wouldn't say it was my driving, because I could be in the middle of 2nd gear, stomp the gas, and my mission would shoot the gears right out of the casing. Is there a mission upgrade available for the SW20?

Re: Transmission Mods?

There is no commonly available upgrade for our trannies and I have yet to see a reason for one.

There are plenty of people running 500-700 rwhp on the stock tranny with no worries. It sounds to me like something else is the issue in your set up.

Re: Transmission Mods?

plz stop calling your transmission a mission,

USE tranny or something like that Plz

anyways if you go to a performance transmission/transaxle shop they can make some improvements with a few aftermarket parts. Its crazy how creative they can get.

I know Its common for chevy trannys but I'm sure they'll build up an import for you.

Beware of high prices though, that stuff can run up a huge bill., I doubt you would really need improvements though, as jekyl/hyde said, You can run high power on these trannys.

BTW I know of a really good shop in texas if you need the info.

Re: Transmission Mods?

As far as I know, quaife make an LSD for our cars ... not any internal tranny pieces/parts.

Re: Transmission Mods?

pretty sure they did a limited run of sequential (think 6 speed) transaxles too, to replace the whole thing. want to find somewhere that does dog gears.

Re: Transmission Mods?

quaife did make a different transmission w/ a 6 speed paddle shifting system.

though... for 30,000 USD i think you can find something that will hold up about as well as that.
