Re: motor swap

anything is possible given the appropriate funds, don't even ask, you will need new motor mounts, transmission ECU driveline Axle at the least not to mention the tidbits to make everything work

use the motor in the GS, turbo charge it, put a dohc 4g63 head on it and call it a day, its much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much
cheaper
and faster

Re: motor swap

1st off... why on earth would you want to even conside putting a honda engine in a mitsu body? Our cars are way too heavy for those little engines to pull along. For about 6K you can put in eagle rods, wiseco pistons bored 3mm over, blue print the engine, boost to 15 psi daily driver, and safely 25 racing and pull over 600 hp. If you want to call B.S. on this one here is the website that will sell you this engine for a few grand more sicne your not doing it yourself. The only reason you havnt heard of this is A) It is being marketed towards the EVO 8 owner's, and B) you didnt read my thread where i posted this earlier, but here it is again!
http://www.rnrracing.com/cgi-bin/ccp...tr=HOME:Lancer It's under the 2.4l heading

well atleast you didnt lie. yeah im sure you could get 600hp out of that engine. maybe even for 6 grand. but the car wont move b/c the RS/GS clutch can only hold about 240hp. then half of that wont even go to the wheels cause all you will do is spin. then you would need an LSD. with the LSD, clutch, and install cost, you're looking at another 2 grand. then comes the transmission. you would pretty much need to redo the whole transmission to hold that 600hp. and we all know how much transmission work cost.

Re: motor swap

So put an ACT clutch in it. Toss on some stage IV half-axels. If you want I can post a site that has a transmission for our car that will handle the HP. What I posted before is exactly what I am doing to my car plus a performance head and cam package. Luckly I am going to recieve support from a few sponsors, so I am looking to drop about 12K in everything. But this also includes full cockpit and engine bay roll cage, seats, harness, rim's, Full fiberglass body and a few other thing's. If your wondering where I'm getting the fiberglass body I'm making it myself. If it turns out good I might sell them. Completion date is set for August of 2006.
