Thumbs down Acts Like it's dying...

Hey great forum.. New here , I am looking for answers or help woth my LHS '94. It started out as a hessitation and acting like a trans slipping and now it is to the point where if you give it gas it acts like it is sufficating and the more gas you give it the slower it goes, the trans isn't shifting right and the R's are staying low. Nuetral is fine and if you let the car sit in neutral for a bit it gets a breathe and then goes but still can't get it up to speed or shift proper, this is getting worse and worse. Starts beautiful and runs nice in idle but as soon as you give it gas is bogs and if you go to give it all its over shes bogged out. Therm stat level good. Is it Trans , is it fuel (where is the fuel filter) bought the car last spring used and was so sweet running.I want my smooth ride back ... Please help .. Thanks All that reply ...

Re: Acts Like it's dying...

Get your car checked for fault codes on the engine and transmission and make sure that a sensor is not faulty.

Fuel Filter is on the Passenger side ahead of the rear wheel well area, it might need changing. Bleed pressure from the fuel system before attempting to change it as there WILL be pressure in the line. If that doesn't help the problem you might want to take it to a service garage and have them check the fuel pressure to the injectors, it may be possible the fuel pump is not delivering the needed pressure and may need to be replaced.

Re: Acts Like it's dying...

I worked on it today thanks for the advice AWP9521. The fuel filter was changed today and no change in the issue, I believe by what was going on it seemed more like it was starving for air. If I try to give it gas in park fast and take the RPMs over 2500-3000 it bogs out and the more I give the more it stalls, I let it sit and it burns up the fuel , I can smell the excess gas. I live out in BFE and have the ability to take it out so I did also and same thing, I can idle but if I need to accelerate at all I can't, the RPM in gear I can not take above 1200-1500 RPM .If I do it sounds like it sufficates and I get a chugging feeling. Still lost.. Next step is Diagnostic test and go from there, but any and all help is definately appreciated, so thank You again for your reply
