New water/oil pump?

I'm in the process of rebuilding my GSR short block and I just want to know if I have to replace the water and oil pumps with new ones or can I just rebuild or reuse the original ones?

Re: New water/oil pump?

I would replace the water pump for sure along with the timing belt, then you can stay on a 90K mile service interval and change both every 90K miles.
As for the oil pump I would just check the clearances, the pump can be rebuilt if the clearences are out of specs. But I would just replace it if they are out of spec it will be much easier and quicker to do it that way.
Let me know if you are going to check the clearances, it will invovle taking the cover off teh back of the oil pump. If you do decide to do this let me know and I will give you specs and diagrams to follow.
