My Jeep sat for 5 months after breaking down. I knew it was major.
I had it towed to a transmission shop. After 2 days, the shop called to say that the transfer case needed an overhaul. I ened up paying $1700.00 for the repair. When I picked the vehicle up, I was informed that the jeep would not start in the "park" position, but would start in neutral. Apparently, this was not know until the test run. I think there may be a problem with the shift linkage. So 2 months after this repair, not it doesn't start. I drove it home the night before and the next morning, it wouldn't start. Could the linkage cause it not to start? It starts but is not firing up. There is a smell similar to exhaust. Please help, I have spent a lot of money. |

Re: 93 jgc won't start
are you saying the engine is cranking but won't start (fire)?
check to c if you have spark at the spark plugs pull a wire off of one of the plugs and hold close to something metal (bolt) have someone crank the engine while you check for spark, be carefill not to hold too close to the boot of the spark plug you will get zapped. then check for fuel make sure you are getting fuel - check fuel pressure. |

For 1700 they should have fixed the no start in park. Does it turn over? Or does it not fire? If it wont turn over -Crank check the nuetral saftey switch. You can by-pass it but make sure you are in park before you do.
