Question high mileage a problem?

Well, some of you may remember me from earlier.....i was planning on getting a either a new WRX or a 2000 Integra Type-R. well....heres the sad part, i found out how much insurance would be for an 18 yr old driving either of those sooo, i wont be getting either of those for a while. but back to my question, i'm now planning on getting a 95 GSR. The question is, if it has high miles on it, say 65k+, if i put almost all new internals (pistons, cam shafts, intake manifolds, springs, etc) would that take away the risk of it being a high mileage car? the new internals would be either spoon or toda probably. if the question doesnt make sense, say so and i'll re-word it, cause it is rather jumbled. thanks in advance.

dude 65k plus is not high mileage at all. especially for a 95. my 99 has 58k. these motors will be fine well into the 100k+ range

ok, lest say like, 80k, if i replaced the internals, would that help reduce the poissibility of the engine breaking down, or having frequent problems?

65K miles isnt anything for a honda. I had 209,000 miles on my stock Si engine in my CRX and it still ran great. i replaced it with the ZC and the stock D16A6 still runs to this point. Replacing the parts will help a little but it all depends on how you drive. You could put new internals in and it could blow 1K miles down the road for all you know. Good luck.:jump:

65k miles for a '95 GS-R is very low and good. But I do think that finding one with that kind of mileage on a '95 GS-R with CLEAN TITLE is very slim. Unless you do find a salvaged title of course. If you are finding a GS-R within the '94-'95 range look at some between 85k to like 100,000.

Just my $.02 cents.

And 94-95 GSR's are the best cuz they're the lightest.
