97 Jimmy

You can shift into or out of 2 Hi and 4 Hi only. You need to stop for 4 low. I think there was a ZR2 suspension which has some of the full size blazer parts.

2hi and 4 hi on the fly. Just don't be accelerating when you switch them back and forth.

4lo has to be engaged while in neutral at a full stop.

Went you shift between 4hi and 2hi, just make sure you are going in a fairly straight line, at a steady speed. All tires should have traction (ie. not spinning/skidding)

Best to do it with NO throttle on at all.

Take you foot off of the gas during the switch.

TRust me, if you don't, the results could be expensive.

As for your suspention, look in your glove box for the RPO codes. The ones like GU6 (3.42 gears) G80 (posi tracion rear end) FE9, FF, FF7, I belive deal with suspention. Increased capacity, smothe ride or you will know the ZR2, that was only offered on 2 dorr models. Tipe in GM RPO codes into google and you will be able to see what you have by thoes codes.
