Im in the process of building my brothers 1987 MKII Golf GTI 8V. I'm doing this in his memory. He died 9-13-2003 from a seizer, But before he passed away he was in love with his VW's no matter what model he loved them. He has had this car for 7 years (the long he has kept any car) and I planned to help him build this car up for when he got better. But that didnt happen. We wrote down all we planned to do to the car. and I just about have eveything he wanted to do to it, But I'm a little lost on one thing. He wanted to put a trubo on it and I know I can use a turbo and manifold off a 1.8 deasel, but where I'm lost is how do I run this system wit the CIS unit????? I have been building turbo Dodges for years, I know just what to do to hook up the turbo, I just dont know how to run it with the CIS......Any help would be great.......Links or ideas ......

it's sorry to hear about you're brother. my condolences on your loss.

it's a very good question, and one i'd like to know the answer to as well. you're definately going to have to fabricate some pipework. if it's a digifant you'll need the ecu remapping. and bigger injectors to cope with more fuel.

the vw dub has enough fuel system to take care of the job......(all you need to do is tap a relay on to the "W.O.T." switch on the intake and run it to the 5th injector for the added fuel) im just wondering how to run the intercooler....to i run the SIS box before the turbo or after?????? cause it need a source of air flow to keep the motor running......the vaccum for the intake keeps it working under standard running ops. but if it before the turbo it would pull harder and make the ballist open wider
