Bad Oil?
Hi,
A friend told me that mainly quaker state and castrol use 100% new oil in their jugs of oil you buy at the store, where as some others use recycled oil mixtures. He also says that many dealerships use vats (purchased in bulk) of recycled oil to maximize their profits, is this true? (ill be doing my own oil changes i think, it is cheaper (10-15 dollars of oil canadian vs 30 for dealership who also "checks belts" notice they said check and not fix of course) |

Re: Bad Oil?
every oil change place buys their oil in bulk. Recycled oil is never used again in gasoline or diesel-engine motor oil, its used for lubricating heavy machinery.
There's also other places that change oil besides the dealership, but doing it yourself is a good option.

Re: Bad Oil?
I heard from this oil expert at NIssan that quaker state isn't that good, but it is much improved than before. I dunno about this new mixture or recycling oil though. I just use Castrol GTX
