My cousin and I got pretty much the same vehicle, he is got 04 Camry LE V6 , I got 05 Camry LE I4. I can’t seem to find my maintenance schedule for the car but he says that on his it clearly states not to touch transmission fluid unless necessary. Can someone please clarify this for me? I was actually going to convert both engine and transmission to synthetic. At what mileage do you consider it broken-in? and is it the same for the engine and the transmission? On my old car’s trany I used “Lubegard” by International Lubricants it is synthetic so I was wondering if I can use it my 05 trany after converting to synthetic….
Sorry for so many questions, I just don’t have any answerers myself Thanks! |

Re: What ATF to use & when to convert
I don't have any answers, but you better check with Toyota because you may void the warranty if you don't use recommended stuff, etc.

Yea,
I just suspect a little vested interest on Toyota dealer part, if they recommend ONLY Toyota stuff & I am sure they will .... |

Re: What ATF to use & when to convert
So how often do you have to change ATF on 05 Camry? and by the way anyone has experience with the Amsoil? - they are all over the net & it actually looks suspicious to me, like a web monopoly on synthetic oil.
