Unhappy dodge daykota

We have a 94 dodge daykota, we put a new motor in it. The question is this motor is from a 2000 daykota, will it work? The motor is in but won't start! Does the brain have to be reset? Thank You

Re: dodge daykota

Depending on what motor it is, (3.9 V6 or 5.2 V8) It sounds like something simple as the crank sensor that mounts between the bellhousing and the back of the motor on the passenger side. Before you check that, make sure you have fuel, and spark.

Can you Please tell me where this 3 prong plugs in at? It comes off the distributor and goes where? The bottom half has been switched out, the top half is the same and the wiring harness is the same. The diagram is of no help! It's like looking at a street map of Japan.LOL I have 6 prongs open and cannot find any place to plug them in at! I understand not all of them need to be pluggeg in, but I am sure this one needs to be. Should we unplug everything from harness and start over? Please help us.

No, everything is the same just the block was warped and switched out. When we went to plug everything back in we ended up with a mess!!!! Just want to know where to plug in the connector that comes off of the distributor? Thanks

Re: dodge daykota

You still didn't tell us what engine you have in there. Is this a four cylinder?

Re: dodge daykota

They go back into where you unplugged them from when the old motor was still in there.

Re: dodge daykota

when you say spark, do you mean, you have 12 volts going to the coil or what? While you're at it, let us know if you have fuel, spark, or neither.
